DEEP DIVE INTO HISTORY: “The United States Army Nurse Corps and Nursing During the American Civil War”

FreeJoin Curator Shannon Walker to learn about the role of women in nursing during the American Civil War, including Mary Phinney Von Olnhaussen, who was stationed in Smithville in 1865.
The program is part of the free Deep Dive into History drop-in series, which gives visitors a deeper understanding of our shared past through costumed interpreters and artifacts. The program runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is designed for all ages. Registration is not required. For more information, call (910) 477-5151.
