Membership dinner and lecture

All Friends of the N.C. Maritime Museum at Southport members are invited to join museum staff and volunteers for an exclusive membership dinner from 6 to 7 p.m. Sept. 13 at the Southport Community Building, 223 E. Bay St.

The dinner will be followed by the special presentation “None Can Be More Vigilant Than We Are: The Blockade of Wilmington, NC During the Civil War” featuring Dr. Robert Browning, retired Coast Guard chief historian. Both programs are free and for Friends of the Museum only. Reservations are required. Call the museum at 910-477-5151 to register.
