07 Feb Maritime Museum program keeps kids busy on Valentine’s Day

SOUTHPORT, N.C. — A scheduled program at the N.C. Maritime Museum at Southport will let parents spend a romantic — and child-free — evening in the town.

Children ages 4 and up are invited to the N.C. Maritime Museum at Southport on Feb. 14 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. They and their new friends will enjoy special activities to include homework help, arts and crafts, games, movie time and pizza dinner under the supervision of staff and volunteers at the museum, located at 204 E. Moore St.

“We are really promoting it as a date night,” said museum Education Curator Katy Menne. “You can have a couple hours child-free.”

Spaces are limited for the program, and the registration fee is $25 (Friends of the Museum Family membership and above receive a 10-percent discount). Registration closes Feb. 13 at 5 p.m.
