With hurricane season closing at the end of November, there isn’t a better time to see how NOAA handles the changes that hurricanes cause annually. Join Kyle Ward, navigation manager located in Charleston, S.C., as he discusses the history and future of nautical charting in the Carolinas. See what resources NOAA provides for recreational boaters, and hear tidbits of his time coordinating hurricane response surveys for ports affected by these fierce storms.

All Third Tuesday programs are free and open to the public; donations are appreciated. Lectures are held at the Southport Community Building, 223 E. Bay St., at 7 p.m. unless otherwise noted. Lectures are geared for 16 years and older. For more information or to register, call (910) 477-5151 or RSVP below. Seating is limited, so registration is required.
